Benefits of Membership

AFOA's monthly newsletter, Capital Ideas, puts you in touch with events, around the southeast, of interest to our members and connects you to the professionals of the forest industry that can help you make the tough decisions of managing your land. We provide information on forest ownership issues to news outlets and ownership issues to legislators.

We provide information about numerous educational workshops and tours through-out Alabama and the immediate surrounding states such as our 2010 Annual Meeting which was held at the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel in Atmore, Alabama on April 16-17, 2010. AFOA provides access for our members to easy-to-use county timber buyer lists: $15 per county printed on gummed labels and referrals to consulting foresters for no-cost initial consultation.

Annual Cost for use of Policy for an AFOA member: $56 plus 12 cents per acre (one AFOA member leasing to one hunting club)

Annual Cost for use of Policy for an AFOA member: $30 plus 24 cents per acre

RECREATIONAL LEASE LIABILITY INSURANCE - $1 million group liability insurance policy for protection from ATV trail riding related liabilities 3/1/2010 to 3/1/2011: (Click here for Application)

Annual Cost for use of Policy for an AFOA member: $210 for up to 5 riders; additional riders are $35 per rider. No acreage fee. See application for details.

Low-cost posted signs are available for members or hunting clubs who lease land of member.
