PROFILE
Helping other people however needed has always been an important part of life for Glenn Berry. Not only is it just something he enjoys doing, but it’s something instilled in him since his days in the Navy. That personality trait has lent itself well into Berry’s professional life as well. Always having enjoyed the outdoors—“My dad was an outdoorsman and would always take me out hunting and fishing,” Berry added—he made the decision to go into forest management, attending Auburn University and getting a degree in Forest Management. After graduation, he joined the Alabama Forestry Commission, where he spent 20 years in various job roles doing forest management and assisting landowners with their decision making.
Berry retired from the Commission in 1998, but his desires to continue helping landowners stayed strong. He went out on his own, focusing mainly on Cleburne County and its surrounding counties. On a daily basis he’s assisting his clients with their forest management decisions, timber management, cutting, planting and whatever else they need help with for their land. “It’s something I’ve long enjoyed, and I’m glad to be able to do it,” Berry said. “There’s something very fulfilling in providing forest management advice and helping clients determine what’s best for them and their land.”
